Evan passed peacefully on Sunday afternoon, February 17th, 2013. He was surrounded by his wife and soul mate Francine, his children Bruce, Wayne and Heather (Glenn O'Neil), as well as his sister Doreen (Jim Haggerty) and niece Maureen Haggerty. Evan was the beloved grandfather of 5. Upon Graduation from Carleton University (B. Comm.), Evan moved to Toronto and began his career with General Electric. In 1961, Evan left General Electric and joined Stevenson & Kellogg in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 1965 Evan joined the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development of the Federal Public Service (Ottawa). Over the next 25 years, he occupied several different positions, finally retiring as an Assistant Deputy Minister with Environment Canada. Following his retirement, Evan and Francine travelled the world and reveled in each other's company. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Remembrance Services (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, ON).
