KIRKPATRICK, Robert John (Jack)
Surrounded by his family at home on February 23, 2014, in his 93rd year. Jack was the loving husband of 59 years to the late Margaret (Peggy). Caring father to Diane (Alan Arbuckle), Donna (Barry Lee) and Ken (Leah). He was the proud grandfather to Sheila, Jennifer, Pamela, Patricia, Christopher and Sarah, and great- grandfather of eight. Jack served with distinction with the 5th Canadian Armoured Division Signals and was awarded the Military Medal in WWII, after which he had a career with Bell Canada. He was an active Mason, serving as Master of Defenders Lodge 590 in 1972-73 and DDGM of Ottawa 2 in 1986-87. He was Past Patron of Crescent Chapter, OES, and served as secretary for many years. He was also an active member of the South Carleton (Manotick) Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. To all who knew him, Jack was a kind and gentle soul who will be sorely missed. On Sunday, March 2, 2014, from 2-4 & 6-9 pm. A Legion service will be held at 2:30 pm. An Eastern Star service will be held at 6:30 pm, followed shortly by a Masonic Service. A Celebration of Jack's life will be held in the Chapel on Monday, March 3, 2014, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Ottawa Mission.
