WATSON, Margaret Rose
(nee Dimmock)
BA, BLS, ARCT (Violin & Piano)
Peacefully in Ottawa on March 10, 2014 in her 87th year. Reunited with her beloved husband Dr. James S. Watson, and her cherished parents Dr. Fred Dimmock and Jean Dimmock (nee Macaulay). Dear cousin to the late Evan O. Macaulay, and his children (Mary Louise Arscott, the late Susan Belanger, Elizabeth Macaulay, Jean Kot, Linda Ervin, and Tom Macaulay). Margaret was born in Ottawa on December 21, 1927. She was a proud graduate of Hopewell Avenue Public School, Glebe Collegiate Institute, Ottawa Normal School, Bishop's University (Lennoxville, QC), the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto and McGill University (Montreal, QC). Margaret was an accomplished musician and served as a professional librarian in federal libraries for 30 years. She possessed a fine mind, and will be fondly remembered for her friendly nature, sparkling wit and vivacious personality. Many thanks to Knox Presbyterian Church, Colonel By Retirement Residence (especially Dr. Ian Warrack, Charge Nurse Debbie Gagné and PSW Slavica Corluka) and Doris MacLean for all their kindness to Margaret in her final years. Much appreciation to special friends Betty Campbell and Verna MacDonald. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
