LENEY, Barrie Alexander
Unexpectedly on Thursday April 17, 2014 at the age of 65. Beloved husband of Marilyn (Curley) and father of Janis (Jeff Ahern) & Tom (Judy Gordon). Proud Grandpa to Valerie, Melanie, Jillian & Madison. Dear son- in-law of Margaret & Urban Curley of Quyon, QC. Predeceased by his parents Thomas (Al) & Ethel, and his step-mother Marjorie K. Hartin. Survived by his brother Graham & his step-brother John Hartin (Debbie). Barrie was a retired employee of the City of Ottawa Dept. of Recreation and in his healthiest years enjoyed fishing, cottaging, Marty Robbins' music, terrible jokes, football & watching his favourite hockey player. Of late, Barrie had a special fondness for sharing Harvey's french fries with his granddaughters. Barrie's family wishes to extend their gratitude to friends, family, neighbours, and his good pal Joanne, who filled Barrie's last years with kindness & laughs. Family and friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe (at Richmond Road) on Wednesday April 23rd from 6-9pm and on Thursday from 11 am until the time of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 12 noon. Donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
