Annie Sylvia Eunice Halikas (nee Duncan) was born in Ottawa, to William Duncan (District Chief, Ottawa Fire Dept.) and Muriel Adorcus McNulty. Sylvia passed away suddenly and peacefully at her home in Ottawa, on June 15, 2014. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 36 wonderful years Christopher Thomas Halikas (DND) in 1994; her brothers William Russell Roy Duncan (Chief, Ottawa Fire Dept.) in 1994 and Kenneth Glen Duncan (Chief, Gloucester Police Force) in 2010; and her dear cousin Dorothy Ann Hicks (Murray) in 2014. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lois Duncan (nee Burton), and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was the much-loved aunt of Karen Addison (Jock); Jill Grassie (Wayne); Tracee Nesbitt (Ted); Burton Duncan (Karen); Bruce Glenn Duncan (Judy); Janet Halikas (Rashad) and Gail Lagodzki (Art); and special cousin to Bruce Gordon Duncan (Joan), William James Duncan and Roberta Perry. Sylvia was a long-time employee of the Canadian Bank Note on Richmond Road, Ottawa. A Graveside Service will be held at
