BEALE, Fay Anne (Doyle) 83, of Peggy's Cove, NS, formerly of Ottawa, died on January 3rd 2011 at home with her family present. She was the daughter of the late Hulbert Doyle and Charlotte (Duff) Doyle and sister of the late Pamela Doyle. Fay will be dearly missed by her brothers, Brian and Michael Doyle, husband John J. Beale, children Jo, Kelly, Tobias, Eliza, John Peter, grandchildren Wylie, Gabriel, Aaron, Julia, Julien, Zoe, Jesse, Zachary, and baby coming, nieces Laura, Megan, Sarah, Maura, Rowan, and nephews Barry, Ryan, Simon and all those who have had the pleasure to know her. A graduate of Lisgar Collegiate Institute and a student of teacher/mentor Wally Mann, Fay broke through the gender barrier as one of the first women to become a chartered accountant. She was the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants' only woman graduate of 1953. During her 50 year professional career she was a teacher, auditor, active member of the NDP and co-owner of Beales' Bailiwick Limited in Peggy's Cove. It was 60 years ago that Fay and John met at the Ottawa Little Theatre while working as usher and prompter. Through all their adventuring they shared a dedication to providing a nurturing and creative environment for their five children. Fay was a powerful force in this family. We have to look very deep within ourselves to find equal grace, intelligence, steadiness, insight, strength, serenity, resolve, sense of irony, humour and poetry. The Beale family will be receiving guests in their home at 126 Peggy's Point Road, Peggy's Cove, Saturday January 8th 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. All welcome. In lieu of flowers and in her memory please consider an act of kindness toward those in need. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Please email [email protected] beales.ns.ca to be notified.
