with much saddness and deep sense of loss that I write this. Donna and I grew up near each other, and although our paths in later years were different, I cherish the fond memories of our friendship in the town of Oil City.

I could always talk to Donna, and knew that she understood. She was way ahead of her time, and in the 50;s that was
pretty far. It wasn't just her intelligence, but her one on one, and at- one inner sense that was special and endearing.

we are all saddened, and better for having know her and loved her spirit.

May she rest in peace, and her memory continue to be a blessing....

with deep sympathy.

She was Mom #2 to us. Greatly supportive in all of our artistic talents and projects and extremely knowledgeable. The coolest step mom I ever had.

My cousin Donna was a friend and mentor. Knowing Donna, you were not surprised that her illness was a journey or that she would not approve of my sadness. She amazed me. She touched me. She showed me glimpses of her spirit, which I will cherish forever. Donna will be missed by family, friends, colleagues and by everyone she touched.

I was very sad to hear about Donna. She was a very supportive colleague, with a lively and curious mind, interested in many topics. We had a lot of good conversations and I always appreciated her support and interested comments.

When last we spoke, Donna was participating virtually via phone in a discussion about the future of library services; she remarked at the end that she wished that she could be with us in person to talk about Second Life. Her intelligence and caring spirit will be missed by us in this life.

Donna was truly dedicated to her profession and never lost her enthusiasm for learning. I will miss her sharp mind and quick wit. She is mourned by her colleagues at Library and Archives Canada.

Donna was one of the first Volunteers I met when I joined the CLA staff in 1987 , and was unfailingly kind, good humoured and dedicated in her commitment to libraries and the association. She was also a good colleague and friend to me during my exchange at what was then the National Library of Canada. My condolences to her family on this sad loss.

I was so very sad and sorry to hear that Donna is no longer with us. She had a love of life and a wonderful enthusiam for the history and heritage of Dvinsk in particular but also the region generally. I often benefitted from her advice and eye for detail. She was always willing to share her time and expertise and generously. She will be sorely missed by many and I will always carry fond memories of her emails popping up always with something interesting and always with good humour. Please accept my sincere condolences, Constance Whippman [All Latvia Database] from London England

I have lots of great memories of talking with Donna, working together, engaging in spirited discussions over 25 years at the National Library. Donna was an inspiration to many – those interested in the latest in technology in libraries, genealogists, people discovering, rediscovering their families and their roots. And I think I remember Donna at the beach at Arnprior/Braeside when we were teens.
