CODERRE, Sister Mary Elizabeth R.H.S.J. Sister Mary Elizabeth Coderre died peacefully at St. Joseph Regional House in Amherstview, Ontario on July 17, 2009. Sister was 93 years of age which 66 years were spent in Religious Life. Sister Coderre was born in Almonte, Ontario, the daughter of Michael Coderre and Eliza Fairfield. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Margaret Coderre Piderman and her brothers John, Wilfrid, and Frank. She is survived by her youngest brother Larry (Gloucester, ON) and her sister-in-law Anita Coderre (Ottawa, ON), plus 22 nieces and nephews, 44 great nieces and nephews and 19 great-great nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received at St. Joseph Regional House, 16 Manitou Crescent E., Amherstview, ON, on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Family Chapel, St. Joseph Regional House on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Rita of Committal with prayers in St. Mary's Cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Aunt Mary was a remarkably loving, interesting, uplifting, intelligent, witty and life-loving woman. As Jim has said, our visits may have been few and far between, but she always made an effort to keep in touch with her many nieces and nephews. She had a gift for listening and for story telling and the most wonderfully dry sense of humour. She has touched so many lives and will be missed but not forgotten by those who knew and loved her.

Sister Mary was my Aunt and older sister of my father, Frank Coderre. Although we spent few and short intervals of time together, she always made me feel I was very special and dear in her life. She possessed a special ability to bring you in, listen, share a laugh (or two) and provide sage advice. Although she had a full and fulfilling life, she gave so much to so many, and will be truly missed.
