MILLAN, Gladys Audrey (Davy) In our hearts forever Gladys at age 79, died peacefully and comfortably on October 7, 2010, after a 2 year battle with ovarian cancer. Born on August 15, 1931 in Pointe-Sainte-Charles, Quebec to Freda and James Davy, Gladys was the youngest of six children. Gladys married her longtime sweetheart Ken Millan from Verdun on October 15, 1955. After living most of her life in The Point, Gladys & Ken moved to St. Bruno, Quebec to raise their children before moving to Ottawa in the early '70's. Gladys was a loving wife of 55 years to Ken and dedicated mother to Kim, Gary and Keri (Ken Smith). A devoted grandmother to Alexandra (17), Kenzie (15), Taylin (13), Paige (our precious angel), Sierra (18), Dominique (15) and Miranda (11) and was adoring and accepting to her many grand pets Lucky, Sami, Holly, Leo, Daisy, Coco, Peaches, Bella & Haley. Gladys had various part time positions over the years but her main focus was always her children & grandchildren. Gladys was a special friend to many, always thinking of others even in her last days. Gladys will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. We are so thankful to the staff, volunteers, doctors, nurses and personal support workers from the Hospice at May Court as they provided exceptional comfort and care to our mom and the opportunity to die with the dignity she deserved. A celebration of Gladys's life will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. (between Baseline and Bayshore Dr.) on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. until service time in the chapel at 1 p.m, reception to follow. Gladys and the family request that donations be made to either; The Friends of Hospice Ottawa - Capital Campaign so that a hospice building can be built in the Ottawa west end or to the Hospice at May Court.
