I corresponded with Elizabeth for several years regarding genealogy. Her letters were always full of her many interests and her love of her extended family. She welcomed me and my aunt into her home, fed us an elegant dinner, insisted she would carry our suitcases upstairs (we resisted), and filled us with stories of all the residents of the townships settled by her and my Stevens ancestors. She was a lovely person and I only wish that I had lived closer to spend more time with her.

Elizabeth was a beautiful person and one of the best story tellers I've ever known. She was a kind and generous person who thoroughly enjoyed working on her genealogy. During one of our visits, it came out that she had taught gym at my old High School in Peterborough. Elizabeth had a full life and touched us all. Rest in peace, Elizabeth. We will miss you.

Elizabeth taught me in Osgoode Township High School and I remember her as being a kind caring teacher. I also attended the same church as she did and saw in her a vibrant faith in God through His Son, Jesus. She instilled in many people the desire to read God's Word and use spiritual gifts in the body of Christ. Elizabeth also was a very giving person- both of herself and her possessions. She will be greatly missed.

Elizbeth was my mom's (Bev Moritz) 2nd cousin, so not sure what that makes me. I spent several springs working with her and James Stuart on her sugar bush during syrup time. Had some nice visits other times as well. What an incredible time of fun and learning it was! Elizabeth was always a joy to be around, and she always had questions for me re: my family tree, as my grandparents were Jennie and Ward Hunt.
I know she is in heaven with our Lord, and I look forward to being reunited again someday!

Elizabeth was my second cousin--and what a remarkable lady she was! Both my father, Ward Hunt, and my son, Mark Moritz, helped out in her sugar bush when it was maple sugar time. She loved her farm and it was always a treat when I would get to visit her. She's with the Lord now and I know that was what she looked forward to. And someday, I'll see her again!

Highly respected, much appreciated for your faith, generosity, wisdom, interest in so many people, ideals, causes, all aspects of life, knowledge of the great and the small, love of life and teaching, kindness to many, the ordinary and the insignificant, children and animals, trees, birds and flowers. An inspiration to all, contributor to an endless list of people in many parts of the world. May your goodness and generosity live on. A privilege to have known you, neighbour and friend.

Elizabeth was my dad Howard Stuart 1st cousin. She did a family book of the Stuart/Stewart families some years ago. She was a lovely lady who has gone to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
My condolenses to the families. Donna Scharfe (nee Stuart)

Elizabeth was an extremely bright and interesting woman, and an absolute asset to her community. I can remember being driven to and from youth Bible camp by "Miss Stuart" as a young child, as well as my conversations with "Elizabeth" in my final year of university, when she contributed so much both to my final research paper and my own personal interest - these are all memories which I will never forget. I send my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

Elizabeth - the kindest and most intelligent woman I have ever known.

Elizabeth and I became friends last year. I was introduced to her by Melissa "High Tower" Groniger. Sunday's quickly became my favourite day of the week as we would socialize over tea or Tim Horton's coffee, go to Church, or lunch.

Elizabeth taught me so very much. I loved spending time with her and listening to all her stories. I will miss her dearly.

I remember Elizabeth Stuart from 1973. My husband and I had just bought a small farm near her home. She came one day to welcome us to the community. What a lovely lady she was. My condolences to her family members and friends.
