Bill HENDERSON Obituary

Published by Ottawa Citizen from Feb. 7 to Feb. 8, 2012.
HENDERSON, Bill
Surrounded by his children, Bill passed away Feb. 3, after 82 remarkable years. A UTS and UofT graduate, Bill provided inspiration to so many over a distinguished 30+ year career with Sears. With the love of his life Peggy (2009), he spent the last 30 years in Ottawa sharing his sense of humour, determination, and spirit of adventure with friends and family. Friends may visit at Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St., Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday 11-2:30 p.m. All are welcome to a celebration of Bill's life at the Chateau Laurier (Quebec Room) on Friday 5-7pm. Memorial donations may be made to the wonderful Hospice at May Court.

Sandy, Tracy & Bill

We were so sorry to hear of your Dads passing. We lived directly across the street from Bill & Peg for 15 years, and shared among other things a love of dogs and the occasional glass of wine. Over the years we and our dogs explored every side street and park within walking and driving distance! We danced with Bill & Peg at her memorable 70th birthday party which Bill went to so much trouble to organize. We were lucky enough to spend Xmas with them at their cottage, and we got to know their family. Those 15 years have left us with many memories.
Please accept our condolences.

To Bill's Family,

Reyna and I are so grateful that we met your Dad and had the opportunity to enjoy some cherished good times with him these recent few months. We will miss his booming voice, his quick smile and his cheerful laugh. We will also miss helping him with his mission - to give his four legged friend Gus as charmed a life as possible after a rough beginning from his previous owner. Your Dad was a Class Act!

Our deepest sympathies to you.

I was very sorry to hear of Uncle Bill's passing. I will always remember the great times I spent with your family many years ago on Golfdale (especially your pool!). Your parents were always so good to me. Cousin Ann.

To Bill's Family

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, what a remarkable man. I knew Bill for many years while I worked for Dr. O'Byrne before my retirement. He was a true gentleman and was always so kind. He has now gone to join your Mom of whom he spoke of so affectionally and whom he missed so much. His smile is something no one will forget. My thought and prayers are with each and every one of you
