PRITCHARD, Russell Gordon
November 25, 1916 - February 7, 2012
Peacefully and in the presence of family at St. Mary's of the Lake Hospital in Kingston on Tuesday, February 7th 2012, in his 96th year. Predeceased by Doris, his beloved wife of 57 years. Memories of Dad will be treasured by his three sons Bruce (Gayle), Brian (Gail) and Barrie (Sue, Pam predeceased). He was a cherished grandfather to Ken (Kathryn), Jeff, Rob (Andrea), Steve (Lidia), Cheryl-Lee (Rob Boettcher), Heather (Tim Crooks), Courtney (Rob Tyo) and Melissa (Jonathan Beals). He loved to share visits and stories with his 13 great-grandchildren. Russell will be sadly missed by the many members of his extended family, both in Canada and abroad. His quiet faith in Jesus Christ was an example to all who knew him. Russell was a long-time employee of the Ottawa Citizen who retired to Kingston in his latter years. Many were blessed by his wisdom, his craftsmanship and his love of nature. Family members are grateful for the care and prayers of the many staff at both KGH and St. Mary's of the Lake who helped Russell navigate the final days of his earthly journey. We rejoice that after a full and generous life, he finds his rest with his Lord and Saviour. Resting at the James Reid Funeral Home (1900 John Counter Boulevard), Kingston on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 and on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the commencement of the service to celebrate his life at 10:30 am., The Reverend Timothy Crooks officiating. The interment at Glenhaven Memorial Gardens will follow a reception in the James Reid Reception Centre. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations in Russell's memory may be made to Harbour Ridge Youth Campus at Wesley Acres.
