It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Claire Bigué, at the Château Westmount, on November 1st , 2012, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Paul Connolly and formerly of the late Maurice Beck, she was always a loving and dedicated person during her life. Predeceased by her parents, Dr. André Bigué, first doctor to practice in Abitibi and Geneviève Germain, her sisters Olympe (Edwin Turnbull) and Marguerite (Roger Côté), her brothers Claude (Marcelle Dugal) and Germain (Jeanne Lalancette), she will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her long time friend Rolande Brunet. As a nurse, Claire practised in Vald'or and Amos, Québec as well as, in Chalk River, Ontario. Later in her career she presided as chief editor to the creation and destiny of la Revue L'infirmière canadienne. In 1982, she was awarded the honorary title of "Chief Editor Emeritus". There will be no visits at the funeral home. A religious ceremony in the presence of her ashes and members of her family will take place at a later date in her native town of Amos, Québec. Donations to the Québec Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the nursing and support staff of the 2nd floor of the Château Westmount in Montréal for their exceptional care and compassion over the past eleven years.
