RCAF, CSE (ret'd)
Suddenly at home, on Thursday, January 10, 2013, in his 80th year. Survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Mary, loving son Patrick (Maggie) and daughter Kimberley (Adrianus), and his cherished grandsons (Dr.) Stephen and David (Amanda), sisters Joyce, Darlene and Margaret, and many nieces and nephews. Will be deeply missed by dear friends Bob and Jean Steeves and Mary and Arthur van Gaal. Wes was a good, honourable and decent man who loved and was loved by his family. His children and especially his grandchildren were Wes's proudest achievement and his greatest joy. Dad's last day with us was a beautiful, mild winter day and he and mom had just returned from their daily outing when he was so suddenly taken from us. We sincerely appreciate the compassionate care provided by the paramedics, fire and police officers who attended to him, and to Dr. Yang for her many years of care. A Celebration of Wes's life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (http://www.kintera.org) or to the Ottawa Mission (ottawamission.com).
