ALDERWOOD, Phil
Phil Alderwood, 84, of Ottawa and Almonte, passed away peacefully, but not without a valiant fight, on February 24, 2013. He is survived by his devoted wife Helen (Taylor) and predeceased by his wife, Mary (Hutchinson). He will be missed dearly by his loving children Joss (Paul) Swimmings, Peter (Jain) Alderwood and Mike (Mary) Alderwood. Also, Wendy (Roy) Timms and Cathi (Bob) Boutwell. Gramps will be sorely missed by his adoring grand-kids Chris, Anna and Joel Swimmings, Jessica and Spencer Alderwood. Also, Julia and Valerie Timms, Andy, Carla and Leanne Boutwell and Ryan Taylor. He had five great-grandchildren and fortunate to have twenty-six nephews and nieces who loved their Uncle Phil. He is predeceased by sisters Mary (Duncan) and Jean (Shek) and will be missed by sisters Kay, Hope, Ruth and Faith whom he loved dearly. Phil was a volunteer to many organizations throughout his life believing it was better to give than to receive. He was the happiest guy around, ask anyone! We thank God for the blessing that he was to our lives and for the time we had with him. It was his time to, "Go home". Friends may call at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Home, 154 Elgin Street, Friday, March 1, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of
Phil's life will be held on March 2nd, at 11 a.m., St. Paul's Anglican Church, 70 Clyde, Almonte. For those who wish, a donation in Phil's memory to SchoolBOX, Ottawa Innercity Ministries or Primate's
World Relief Fund would be appreciated. Condolences or donations may be made to www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
