SHORE, Evelyn Mary (nee Morrow)
With the love of her family in her heart, Evelyn died peacefully on Sunday morning, March 3, 2013 at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Russell Shore. Dearest Mom of Michael (Elisa) and Darlene (Alan Smith). Loving Nanny of Gregory (Diana), Rebecca (Frank Trudel), Stephanie Fife, Michelle White, Brian Clarke. Deeply devoted Great-Grandma to Mackenzie, Ethan and Kody Shore; Korbin Trudel-Shore, Alyssa and Matthew Trudel. Big Sis of Bert Morrow (Brenda) and Helen Sunstrum, sister-in-law of Doris Morrow (the late Gord). Predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was a very vocal and passionate advocate for Seniors' rights and was proudly involved in many community agencies such as; the Speakers' Bureau of United Way; Senior Citizens Council of Ottawa; Ottawa-Carleton Regional Housing Authority; United Tenants of Ontario; Council on Aging; Ottawa Seniors Action Network; long standing member, past-President & Vice President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Montgomery Branch; a 2004 recipient of the YM-YWCA Women of Distinction Award; Board Director for P.A.C.E. 2000. Special thanks to the hard working staff at West End Villa 4th flr, where Evelyn was cared for with much respect and love. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O'Connor) on Thursday, March 7th from 2-4 & 6-9 pm. Last respects & visitation on Saturday, March 9th from 10:30 am until Service time in the Chapel at 11:30 am, followed by a Reception at the Funeral Home and then interment at Capital Memorial Gardens. Donations gratefully accepted to the United Way of Ottawa, www.unitedwayottawa.ca , Royal Canadian Legion, Montgomery Branch or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
