1917 - 2013
With sadness we announce the passing of our dear father, Guy Lavergne, at the age of 95. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean (nee Murray); children Wes (Lyn), Laura (Murray), Kathy, and Joe (Linda); grandchildren Kelly, Chris, and Sarah; and several great- grandchildren. Guy served for 6 years oversees in WWII, volunteering to stay on and help rebuild after the war ended. He was a long-term employee at National Research Center as a plant mechanic. He spent many years working part-time as a custodian for McGrath Canada. He was a talented fisherman, bowler, carpenter and gardener. He loved having projects to work on. A generous friend and neighbour, he was happiest when helping others or hosting get- togethers. He's now reunited with our aunts and uncles and they're probably having a lively card game. He will be forever missed. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod (at O'Connor), Ottawa, on Saturday, March 30th from 10 a.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 12 noon.
