ISABELLE, Dr. Gaston
Passed away on June 3rd, 2013, at the age of 92. Predeceased by his parents Lionel Isabelle and Irene Laroche, his wife, Madeleine Sarra-Bournet. He is survived by his spouse, Denise Dagenais, his sons Claude (Chantal Pilon), Pierre (Hélène Groulx), Michel (Nathalie Trudel), his grandchildren Patrick (Chantal), Pascale (Mathieu), Anik, Patrick (Cathy), Brian (Agatha), Annie (Philippe), Alexandra (Jérémie), Cédric, and also by his great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Gabrielle (André Couture) and several brothers-in-law, sisters- in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Fernand and Jean-Marie. Born in Hull in 1920, he was admitted doctor in 1948, he actively practiced family medicine in the Outaouais region for over 50 years. He was elected mayor of Lucerne (1961-1965), represented the House of Commons as a member of the ridings of Gatineau, Hull and Hull-Aylmer from 1965 until his retirement from politics in 1988. He will be remembered by the people who knew him for his charisma, his dedication, his joviality and generosity. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Coopérative Funéraire de l'Outaouais, 95, Cité-des-Jeunes Blvd., Gatineau (Hull sector). The funeral service will be held Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11 am at St. Joseph Cathedral, 275, boul. St-Joseph, Gatineau (Hull sector). The family will receive condolences at the church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be forwarded to the Foundation of the CSSS de Gatineau-Hull Hospital.
