Peacefully and comfortably at home in his 91st year. Son of the late Gordon and Anna (née Jackson) Green. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor (née Mackenzie), loving father of Alison (Richard Charlebois), Mark (An Chi Wong), and Janet (Andrew Hill) and grandfather of Arianne, Philip, Katherine, Robert, and Anna. Dear brother-in-law of Sylvia Mackenzie Mercer. A graduate of Ashbury College, the University of Michigan and Columbia University, and a resident of Rockcliffe Park for 80 years, Gerald spent most of his career in the Federal Department of Trade. A wonderful husband and father, he was patient, deliberate in details, and loving, with a generous spirit and wide knowledge of almost any subject, and a serene tolerance of whatever life threw at him. Thank you to each of the Personal Support Workers who made such a difference in his quality of life; and to the palliative teams who ensured his comfort in the past few days. A Memorial Service will be held in the Sacred Space of Beechwood, Cemetery and Funeral Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue (east of Vanier Parkway), Ottawa on Sunday, December 8th at 1pm. Online Tributes can be left at www.beechwoodcemetery.com
