Fabulous photo of Buck taken by my father.

Sending heartfelt condolences to Buck's family. My dad, Tom Hinton and Mom, Bonnie Hinton, both loved RJ and his first wife, Doreen. I remember wonderful times listening to the four of them around the dinner table of a Friday evening, with Buck telling stories and everyone laughing. I remember the warm grip of his handshake and the way he held me gently, but firmly, on the shoulder as he asked about me and what I was up to. I remember how he loved beer and sweet and sour pork at The Mekong. I have such fond memories. Very best wishes to Steve, Daniel, Casey and families.

Steve and family: So sorry for your loss. He was a big part of our lives when he and Dean were with TC Standards Group. Instrumental in Dean and I celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. He and Dean were an amazing pair with a great deal of respect for one another. He had a great sense of humour and was so proud of his family.

I was fortunate to have met a Bob when I joined TC's Standards group. He was a fine gentleman and an inspiration to all who worked with him. I seem to remember a story related to balloon flying and a family of skunks? My condolences to Steve and the family.

My sincere condolences and love to all the Buckles family during this very sad time. When I joined Transport Canada as a new inspector in 1986, Bob Buckles and Dean Broadfoot were already considered icons of aviation. They were fast friends and you were blessed indeed if you found yourself in their presence when they went on a story-telling jag. It was a thing to behold and you'd never forget the laughter, the heroics, the humility, and the respect they had for each other. Godspeed Bob...you were a gift to this world, as are your family members. Your love touched many lives.
