I am shocked and extremely saddened to hear of Doug's passing. I worked with Doug at the CNSC in Ottawa and was lucky to participate on many inspections with him at Chalk River. He was an absolute joy to work with. He made everyone around him smile which truly made him special.
Even though I never met Doug's family, I feel like I knew each member as Doug spoke of you all very often. He was a proud father and was excited to see where his kids studies would take them. Even though Doug has left us today he is forever on this journey with you.
RIP my friend.

It is with heavy heart that I send my condolences to Doug's family. We worked together for many years at the AECB/CNSC and it would be hard to find a person as caring and professional as he. Cherish your memories and God bless.

We all share in the shock and grief of Dougie's passing. Little can be said that will ease your grief except for you to know that you and the entire family are in our thoughts. He will always be remembered with fondness and for the love and sense of humour he shared with everyone.
Kindest regards,
