Dwight C. Todd, 79, of Midland, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 17, 2012, at his residence. The son of the late Glenn L. and Florence M. (LaVier) was born in Midland on March 14, 1933, where he was raised and educated. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Dwight had been employed for 38 years until retiring from Dow Corning Corp. He enjoyed spending time outdoors at the family cabin in Harrison, bird watching, riding his quad, tinkering with things, telling stories and giving the grandkids a ride on his golf cart. Dwight was a member of Homer United Methodist Church. On Jan. 10, 1956, in Tokyo, Japan, he married the former Masako T. Tagami. She died on July 12, 2001.
Surviving is his son, Charles (Deb) Todd of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Marge (Bob) Lincoln of Midland; grandchildren, Harley Todd, Stacy (Matt) Riley, Bobbie (Denis) Dishaw, Adam (Sue) Lincoln, Andrew and Jenna Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Abigail Lincoln-Klele, Madelyn Dishaw, Justin Riley, Brayden Riley, and Maggie Riley; stepgranddaughter, Marcy Brown; brother, Robert Todd of White Lake; sisters, Ruth Morden of Midland and Helen O'Halloran of St. Clair Shores; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Dwight was preceded in death by brother, Keith Todd; and sister, Audrey Heimann.
Funeral services for Dwight will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, from Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Pastor David G. Mulder will officiate. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 p.m., and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be offered to MidMichigan Home Care (Hospice). Some of our best memories are of him at the cabin. The kids just loved going for rides.
