Albert V. Methner

Albert V. Methner, 73, of Coleman, died at his home, Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013. He was born in Wise Township, Isabella County, Jan. 22, 1940, the son of the late Jason and Mina (Swan) Methner.

Al served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Coleman VFW Post #1071. He retired from The Dow Chemical Co. in 1996 after 28 ½ years. He married his wife, Patricia, July 8, 2005. The loves of Al's life were God, his family, baseball and John Deere tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Coleman; children, Loranne and Kent Nash of Goshen, Ind. and Ryan and Natalie Methner of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Laramie, Noah, Jack and Tyler; sisters, Betty and John Ranck of Sanford, Geraldine Geiling of Sanford, Shirley Dennis of Coleman, Jane Johnson of Sanford, Mary Lou and Tom Bolt of Coleman; brother, Don and JoAnn Methner of Louisville, Ky.; brother-in-law, Dale Christopher of Coleman; and sister-in-law, Patricia Methner of Coleman. He was preceded in death by sisters, Edith Wiltse and Alice Christopher; and a brother, Franklin Methner.

Funeral and committal services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at the Community of Christ Church in Coleman with The Rev. David Cox Officiating. Cremation will take place, with burial in the Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman. Friends may call at the O'Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., and at the church on Monday starting at 10 a.m. until the time of services. There will be a memorial service conducted by the Coleman VFW Post #1071, 6:30 p.m., Sunday night. Memorials are suggested to MidMichigan Home Care or the Coleman Veteran's Memorial.
