Charles B. "Chuck" Wright, 64, of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014, at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born June 26, 1949 in Midland, the son of Charles F. and Delores E. (Shangle) Wright. He was a 1967 graduate of Breckenridge High School, and married Connie Hooker June 28, 1968, at the Coe Road Church of Christ.
Chuck worked for The Dow Chemical Co. in Midland for 40 years, working his way from janitor to his current position, Senior Executive Support. He had many opportunities to travel with his company, and had spent a month in Sochi, Russia for the 2014 Winter Olympics, running the Olympic Torch. Chuck thoroughly enjoyed his work and helping others.
He was a member of the Alma Elks Lodge
#1400 for 20 years, a member of the ARRL, and attended the Countryside United Brethren Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and computers.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 45 years, Connie of Breckenridge; a son, Milan Wright of Wheeler; a daughter, Michele (Ken) Kaunitz of Gillette, Wyo.; six grandchildren, Britt, Zach, Josh, Branden, Victoria and Jameson; two great-grandchildren, Amy and Emmett; and a sister, Nola Travis of Apopka, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter-in-law, Valerie Wright.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 1 p.m. at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel in Breckenridge, with Pastor Lee Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery in Breckenridge. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9th, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
