Donna Brabaw, 79, joined her daughter, Michelle, in eternal life on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. She was born to John and Marie (Kusmierz) Mellon on May 1, 1933, in Saginaw.
Donna was employed as treasurer and clerk for the city of Standish for 16 years. She was a life member of the VFW
Ladies Auxiliary. Donna loved playing cards, shopping, gift giving, holidays and family celebrations. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, camping, fishing and trips to the casino. Donna always put her children first. Nothing was more important to her than her family.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Deb (Greg) Vallad and Karen (Rick) Lickfeldt; and her sons, Mark Brabaw and Randy (Sheila) Brabaw; grandchildren, Ryan Vallad, Alicia (Vic) Campau, Erica (Del) LaPan, DerRick (Heidi) Lickfeldt, Sheena (Phil) Lickfeldt, Brandy (Jeremy) Udovich, Nicole Price and Timothy Kelly; great-grandchildren, Carter, Avery and Kinley Campau, Graysen and Lane LaPan, Deegan Lickfeldt, Caden and Laken Lickfeldt, and Liam, Cameron and Rowan Udovich; her sisters, Joan Callan, Margie (Don) Loiselle; and her brother, Tom Mellon. Her daughter, Michelle Brabaw; and Donna's parents preceded her in death.
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 11 a.m., from the R. O. Savage Funeral Chapel in Standish. Donna will lie in state at the chapel from 10 a.m. until service time. Family will greet friends at the chapel today 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Donna's family would like to extend a special thank you to Rochelle and the staff of the Auburn Heights Senior Care Home for the personal and compassionate care given to their mom for the past 27 months.
