Donna Evelyn Ioset passed into eternal life on Mother's Day, May 12, 2013, at Tendercare Nursing Home in Midland. She was born Feb. 14, 1927, in Calvin, N.D., to Malcolm and Cora Campbell, joining two sisters and a brother. She attended St. Cloud Teachers
College in St. Cloud, Minn. and then worked as a telephone operator and as a school teacher.
Donna and her husband, Robert, were married June 10, 1949, in the university chapel of the University of Minnesota
in Minneapolis. They lived in Brazil and then in Tennessee and Georgia before settling permanently in Midland in 1960.
Donna, or Dee as she preferred to be called and as everyone knew her, had a very successful dog grooming business for many years in Midland. She and Bob were instrumental in developing the Leader Dogs for the Blind puppy fostering program of the Midland Lions Club. She was an active member, officer, and teacher of the Memorial Presbyterian Church of Midland for 53 years. Dee was a long-time volunteer at King's Daughters Home and also active in PEO. She and Bob were charter members of the Midland Curling Club and enjoyed many fascinating trips to foreign destinations. All their life together, they cultivated many wonderful and lasting friendships and have been very grateful for the love and support of their friends, their family, and their church.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her sons, Mark and Scot, of Richfield Springs and Hamilton, N.Y. respectively; daughters-in-law, Myrna and Connie; and grandchildren Heather Rose (with her husband, Jeff and great-grandson, Christian) of Toronto, Canada, Chris Ioset (with his wife, Nicole, of San Antonio, Texas), Brittany (Ioset) Houseman (with her husband, Jared, of Hamilton, N.Y.), and Ben and Samuel Ioset of Hamilton, N.Y.
A service of witness to the resurrection will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary of Memorial Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow in the church parlor. Memorials may be given to Memorial Presbyterian Church and Leader Dogs for the Blind.
