John Estridge

John Estridge, 73, of Midland, passed away the morning of Oct. 30, 2012, at TenderCare Midland from end stage COPD.

John was born on Nov. 10, 1938, in New York. He joined the U.S. Navy and Merchant Marines, then settled in Detroit in the late 1960s with a young family. He lived in Detroit for most of his life, where he raised his family, worked and retired from Detroit Edison. After retirement, he moved to Sanford and Midland to enjoy life hunting, fishing and playing pool.

John was a lifetime member of the NRA, he earned "Distinguished in Pistol" Award. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, and the Federation of Eagles.

John is survived by six children, Dawn and Kristine of Michigan, Russell of Arizona, Craig of California, Brian of Michigan and Gail of Pennsylvania; lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind fiancee, Vi McCreadie of Midland.

John had many friends throughout Michigan and it is a great loss.

A memorial service will be held Dec. 2, 2012, at Sanford Moose Lodge, starting at 1 p.m. Contact Margaret Guest for additonal information 989.636.7413.
