Marvin Leon Batch

Marvin L. Batch, 88, passed away Feb. 25, 2013, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Marvin was born in Pontiac, to the late Roy Batch and Pansy (Turner) Batch. Marvin was a World War II veteran, proudly serving in the U.S. Army in Germany and France. He lived in Midland, where he worked as a welder at The Dow Chemical Co. He retired at age 51, moving to the Sun City, Ariz. area in 1985. Since that time, Marvin and his wife Betty worked together building, remodeling, and selling many homes in both areas.
He married Betty (Tyrrell) on March 6,1948, and she survives him. He is also survived by their three children, Terry (Emily) Batch of Midland, Lynne (John) Epert of Henderson, Nev. and Kristi (Craig) Laurrell of Peoria, Ariz.; as well as grandchildren, Chad (Nikki) Epert, Melissa Heim, Hope Epert, David Epert, Sarah (Todd) Kajdan, and Ryan (Kate) Batch. Beloved grandson, Jason Epert, preceded him in death. Six great-grandchildren survive him, Lauren and Evan Kajdan, Sydney and Aidan Heim, Chevela Rose Epert, and Jacob Epert. Sisters, Remonda Bearinger, Ilah Hughes; and brother, James Batch preceded him in death.
Marvin was respected for his ethics and known for his quick wit. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be so dearly missed.
A service will be held at 11 a.m., March 8, 2013, at Veteran's National Memorial Cemetery of AZ 23029 N, Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix.
