Randolph Collingwood Dowd, 71, of Flint, died Sunday March 2, 2014 at Lifehouse Prestige Place in Clare. He was born March 30, 1942 in Midland, the son of Russell and Margaret "May" (Hubble) Dowd. Randy retired from General Motors
in 2009, after 47 years of service. His interests included fast cars (Corvettes) and the University of Michigan.
Survivors include his daughters, Wanda and Jay Moreck of Elyria, Ohio, Theresa Dowd of Clare, Susan Padilla-Biscamp of Moriarty, N.M.; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; his mother, May and Mike Murray of Harrison; step-sisters, Kathy and David Thon of Saginaw, Nancy and James Haring of Harrison, Karen and Bill Moritco of Mt. Pleasant, Rebecca and Scott Loomis of Winn, Stephanie and Daryl Wonzy of Mt. Pleasant; and best friend Tom Dunn. Randy was preceded in death by his Father Russell; and step-brothers, David, Chuck and Wesley Murray.
Funeral and committal services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the O'Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. of Coleman, with burial in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Friends may call at the funeral on Thursday, starting at 12 noon until the time of services. Memorials are suggested to Women's Aid of Mt. Pleasant.
