James Michael Foster Sr.

James Michael Foster Sr., 65, of Hope, died unexpectedly, Monday, March 11, 2013, at his home. He was born on July 30, 1947, in Midland, son of the late James and Lillian Grace (Stephenson) Foster.

Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged, receiving the Purple Heart.

Jim was employed and retired from The Dow Chemical Co. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his two sons, James Michael Foster Jr. and his fiancée, Krystal Kramer, and Jerry Foster all of Alpena; grandchildren, Jenna Marie, Taylor Mae and Tiffany Jade Foster; stepmother, Elva Eastman; brothers and sisters, Nancy Randall, Chuck (Peggy) Eastman, Melanie (John) Boice, Judd (Cindy) Eastman, Gary (Theresa) Eastman and Diane Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
