Blaine E. Tuttle, 83 of Midland, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, following a brief illness. He was born on Oct. 7, 1930, in West Branch, son of William and Clara (Stone) Tuttle. Blaine married Patricia (Dyer) on July 9, 1966.

Blaine graduated from West Branch High School in 1946. He worked at the General Motors Pontiac Assembly Plant prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Army. He served his country during the Korean War. He was stationed at Big Delta Army Airfield in Fairbanks, AK., and had many fond memories of the experience. Following his time serving his country, he resumed working for General Motors in Livonia. When he chose to pursue a career closer to Midland, he worked for Consumers Energy, followed by 4D Builders Supply. He entered a career in insurance sales in 1969 with Prudential and later became an Independent Insurance Agent until his retirement. Blaine was a member of Midland American Legion Post #165, where he was a past adjutant. He was also a member of the Midland BPOE Elks Lodge #1610 for many years. Blaine enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, being outdoors, working in the yard, fishing, and hunting. He was particularly fond of waterfowl and bird hunting, and enjoyed success on virtually every hunt he attended.

Blaine is survived by his wife Patricia (Dyer); and son William (Wendy) Tuttle. In addition to his parents, Blaine was preceded in death by brother Dewayne Tuttle; and sister Dorothy (Wood).

Funeral services for Blaine will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Rev. John Pohanka will officiate with burial in Midland City Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Midland Area Veterans, and the Dept. of the U.S. Army. Blaine's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m., and on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
