Bruce C. Draves, 68, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1946, to the late Clyde "Mike" A. and Dorothy E. (Sasse) Draves. Bruce married Judy Harvey Oct. 16, 1965 in Midland.
Bruce graduated from Midland High School in 1964, where his 100 yard dash record still stands. He attended Michigan State University
and Central Michigan University. Bruce worked for The Dow Chemical Co. as an Operator and Foreman, until he retired Dec. 31, 1996. He loved to hunt, golf, and watch baseball and football.
Bruce is survived by wife, Judy; his daughter, Sarah (Dave) Jegla; and sons, Bruce Draves, Jr. and David (Rieko) Draves. He is also survived by his sister, Merl Ann Farquharson; grandchildren, David Jegla III, Norrin Jegla and Erin Jegla; a special cousin, Bill Draves (who was more like a brother); and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, David Draves.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with The Rev. Paul Young officiating. Visitation will be at Smith-Miner Funeral Home Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from 4-7 p.m., and on Wednesday at the church, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Jerome Township Cemetery.
