Joan L. Tacey, 79, of Beaverton, passed away at her home after a long illness on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012. She was born in Gladwin, on Dec. 8, 1933, the daughter of Harry and Monia (Stone) Longstreth. She married Robert Tacey on June 6, 1980, in Beaverton.

Joan was employed as an executive secretary with the FBI in Washington, D.C., later went on to work for the Buyers Guide in Beaverton and also was Owner/Operator of The Stationary Shop in Beaverton. She was an incredible mother, devoted wife and loved spending time with her family. She was a great bookkeeper, enjoyed her flower gardens, feeding and watching birds, camping, cats and kittens. She also loved to travel, her favorite location to visit was Gulf Shores, Ala. She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Gladwin and held many officer positions in the church, as well as past trustee.

Joan is survived by her husband, Robert Tacey of Beaverton; her children, Michael (Carol) Brown of Beaverton, Steven (fiancee' Claudine) Brown of Lowell, Marcy (Tom) Grant, Kim Brown and Deb Petrik all of Beaverton; three stepchildren, Amy (Bob) Hawkins, Lori (Lee) Offenbecker all of Bay City, and Todd (Cindy) Tacey of Standish; 11 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Marian Linton of Gladwin; brother, Jim Longstreth of Birch Run; sister, Karen (Doyle) Donn of Gladwin. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert Brown; one grandchild, Tera Sue Brown; one great-grandchild, Aiden Brown.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, 1 p.m., with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. at St. Paul Episcopal Church, Gladwin. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, from 3-9 p.m., at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Gladwin. She will be laid to rest at Tobacco Twp. (Dale) Cemetery, Beaverton.
