Betty Dingman, 71, of Midland, died early Tuesday morning, March 18, 2014 at her residence. She was born March 30, 1942 in Midland, daughter of the late Emerson Corbat Sr. and Helena (Kalahar) Corbat. She was a 1960 graduate of Midland High School. On Dec. 2, 1961 she was married to Kenneth A. Dingman Sr. in Midland. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2013.
Betty was an active bowler in the Midland area in her younger years and was employed by Community Drugs for several years. Her favorite pastime was watching sports especially her grandchildren's sporting events.
Surviving are her three children, Ken Dingman Jr., Cheryl Gaudard and her husband Patrick, and Dawn Dingman all of Midland; seven grandchildren, Kenny Dingman III, Ryan Dingman and his wife Carrie William Gaudard and his wife, Barbie, Sarah Gaudard, Amanda Denton and her husband Billy, Chelsea Shook and Brady Shook; and her great-granddaughter, Aryanna Landerway. Also surviving is her brother, Emerson Corbat and his wife Rebecca of Midland; her sister, Nancy Carvey of Florida; and her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Ken Wilsey of Hemlock.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Corbat.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler St. in Midland, with committal services to follow in the St. Patrick's Ryan Cemetery in Midland County. Betty's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 4-7 p.m., and on Friday, from 10 a.m. until services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Dingman family or MidMichigan Home Care (Hospice).
