Robert Seeburger, 89, of Midland, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at MidMichigan Medical Center. He was born May 30, 1924, in Midland to the late Jacob and Edith (Schwartz) Seeburger.
Robert attended Central Michigan University where he earned his teaching degree. He went on to receive his master's degree from the Chicago Academy of Art.
While attending Cranbrook Academy of Art, Robert was awarded a Fulbright Award for study of art in Italy which made it possible for him to attend the International School for Ceramics in Faenza, Italy.
Robert inspired countless adults and youth during his teaching career. Robert had a huge passion and love of art but teaching art to others was his greatest love.
Robert is survived by his sister, Rhea Toles; and brother, Gerald Seeburger, both of Midland. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Seeburger; and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilfred, Howard, Roand, Harold and Gordon; and sisters, Beatrice Young, Esther Ward and Yvonne Seeburger.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Smith-Miner Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Makela officiating.
Friends can visit with the family on Monday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at the Midland City Cemetery.
