Myrtle Grace Roe, 86, of Midland, died Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Brittany Manor. She was born March 23, 1928 in Midland, daughter of the late Burlin Glen and Della Mae (Galey) Ireland. Grace was married to Theodore W. Roe Dec. 31, 1943. He preceded her in death. Grace was employed at K-Mart for twenty-two years before her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, reading the Bible, crossword puzzles, but most of all, being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Linda and Bert Kellogg of Midland, Theodore and Jacquelyn Roe of St. Louis, Dennis and Cynthia Roe of Jenison, Christopher and Beatrice Roe of Midland and Gerald and Suzanne Roe of Bay City; eighteen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by four sisters; three brothers; and one-great-grandson.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, from the Eagle Ridge Church of God, 2808 Waldo Road, Midland. Pastor Jim Jordan and Pastor James Shanks will both officiate, with burial to follow in the Midland Cemetery. Grace's family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler St. in Midland on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and at the church on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
