Billie Lorraine Briggin, 81, of Midland, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, March 1, 2012, at Gladwin Pines.
She was born April 5, 1930, in Midland, to William and Hazel (Bright) Freeman. She resided in this area all her life. Billie married Lawrence Frederick Briggin on Aug. 5, 1947, in Midland. She enjoyed baking, cooking and making crafts.
Billie is survived by her husband, Lawrence; three children, Larry (Muriel) Briggin of Beaverton, Kay (Dale) Budd of Ocala, Fla., Vicky (Loren) Kozuch of Pendleton, Ky.; four grandchildren, Tina (Brad) Bush of Kentucky, Kimberly (Mark) Williams of Kentucky, Wendy (Jason) Dials of Midland and Christopher (Jennifer) Briggin of Merrill; seven great-grandchildren, Alyssia, Shelbie and Kaleb of Midland, Anthony, Zachary, Lauryn and Andrew of Kentucky; atwo sisters, Ardith (Robert) Chubb of Midland and Rita Freeman of Midland; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Bleim of Midland and Janita Merica of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Freeman.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012, from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel. Pastor Michael Parsons will officiate, with burial in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Billie's family will receive friends at the funeral home, 1200 W.
