Harold L. Dopp, 80, of Midland, died at Caretel Inn in St. Joseph, on April 12, 2012. He was born in Mt. Haley Township, Midland County, on March 27, 1932, to the late Fred H. and Harriet B. (Nelson) Dopp.
Harold served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955, after which he was honorably discharged. On Dec. 29, 1956, Harold married his sweetheart, Joyce Grell, in Angola, Ind. She preceded Harold in death on May 28, 1998. In 2000, Harold married the late Lola Wyman, who preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 2009.
Harold had many hobbies which included, fishing, hunting and dancing. He was big fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Loons. Harold was a member of the Sanford American Legion.
Harold is survived by his son, Lloyd (Julie) Dopp of Benton Harbor; daughter, Kay Baker of Midland; stepsons, Mike (Dawn) Wyman of Big Rapids, Brad (Eve) Wyman of Marquette; stepdaughter, Lori Wyman of Syracuse, N.Y.; grandchildren, Timm Dopp of Benton Harbor, Brent Dopp of Bridgman, Kendra (Jim) Schaedig of Holland, Troy Baker of Chicago, Alicia Bidwell of Seattle, Brad Bidwell of Detroit, Jennifer Wyman, Shawna (Thomas) Hanna, Christopher Wyman, and Benjamin Wyman; his sister, Doris Snell of Midland; and special friend, Connie Wheeler. Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Reginald, of Midland.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012, at Homer United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dave Mulder officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-7 p.m., at Smith-Miner Funeral Home, 2700 W. Wackerly, and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

I am so sorry to hear of Harold's passing, he was such a nice man. My prayers go out to his family. very glad he was a part of my Mother's life. He will be missed. My condolences, Pam Wheeler Schneider.
