Ronald H. Kitzmiller, 75, of Merrill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.

Ronald was born Oct. 18, 1937, in Pontiac, to the late Olland and Gernith (Smith) Kitzmiller. He married Susan Church on Nov. 2, 1963, she survives him. He worked for The Dow Chemical Co. from 1965 until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, travelling, and attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Rod (Ruth) Kitzmiller and Carrie (Mark) Thompson; grandchildren, Tori, Beth, Zach, Mike, and Haley; great-grandsons, Zander and Blake; sister-in-law, Mary Kitzmiller; niece, Barbara Locher; and special cousin, Rae Marie Brian. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Benjamin and Ivan.

Funeral services will take place at 11:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at W.L. Case & Company in Merrill. Pastor Douglas Tester will officiate. Private burial will take place at a later time in Lakefield Twp. Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-5 and 6:30-8:30 p.m., and again on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Merrill Sports Boosters or to Mid-Michigan Medical Center.
