Mr. Edgar William Sirrine, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte, N.C., with The Rev. John Fitzgerald and The Rev. Bill Jeffries officiating. Burial will be private.

Born in Midland, Mr. Sirrine was a son of the late Robert Edgar Sirrine and the late Mildred Louise Moe Sirrine. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was retired from The Dow Chemical Co., with 35 years of service. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Alma Austin Sirrine; and his sister, Norma Gay.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Worden Sirrine; his daughters, Marcia Parnell (Bob) of Charlotte, N.C., Cheri Martin (Gordon) of Jupiter, Fla., and Michelle Perry of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Sirrine of Eagle Lake, Fla.; sister, Janet Close of Swartz Creek; stepsons, Rick Worden (Sandy) and Jeff Worden (Jennifer), both of Midland; stepdaughter, Linda Steinke (Mark) of Midland; and nine stepgrandchildren.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Sirrine's name to Providence United Methodist Church, Endowment Fund or Columbarium Fund, 2811 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211.
