Amos Wilhoite, 94, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 24, 1923, in the Hesler community of Owen County, he was the son of the late Robert and Hattie Acree Wilhoite and the widower of Louise Hammonds Wilhoite. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Iva Mae Renfro, John Will Wilhoite, Hugh Stamper and W.K. Stamper. Early in life, Amos accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and at the time of his passing was a member of the Hesler Assembly of God. He was a retired employee of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet in Frankfort.
He is survived by his children, the Rev. Mark (Naomi) Wilhoite of Louisville, Beverly Wilhoite of Hesler and Kevin (Rhonda) Wilhoite of Georgetown; grandchildren, Leah (Jeff) Antle, Rachel (Casey) Kuffner, Heather (Craig) Vaughn and Rev. Stephen (Kimberly) Wilhoite; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hugh, Celia, Mason, Cameron, Aaliyah, Jackson and Kennedy.
McDonald and New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
The funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Hesler Assembly of God with the Revs. Mark Wilhoite, Larry Hammonds and Stephen Wilhoite presiding. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hesler Assembly of God Building Fund.
