Ann Cobb Smith, 82, passed away at her home in Holiday, Fla. on Friday, March 7, 2014, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Born May 23, 1931 in Owen County, she was the daughter of Paul and Cora Coleman Cobb. Ann was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Howard Smith and siblings, Ty, R.C. 'Newt,' Catherine and Mary Curtis Cobb and Sarah 'Tink' Florian. She is survived by her second husband, Fred Dietrich; her sister, Bea Cobb Montgomery; two daughters, Penney Anderson and Doreen Kublick; four stepchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.ÊÊ Ann was a lifetime member of the DAVA and the VFWA. She moved to Florida in 1964, worked as a district manager for Pick Kwik Food Stores and was given the Million Dollar Manager Award prior to her retirement. Ann loved the Florida sunshine, fishing, bingo, cards and above all her family.ÊA memorial tribute to her life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Owen County Extension Building.
