Mrs. Emily Marie Marston, 89, of Owenton passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at the New Horizons Medical Center. Born June 7, 1924 in the Fairbanks community of Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy D. and Hattie B. Jones. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Bertha Kingcaid, Gracie Hammond, Gypsy Steres, Buford Hammond, Florence Toole and Henry Hammond. Mrs. Marston was a homemaker and a devout member of the South Fork Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. For over 65 years, she served her church making the unleavened bread for communion. Her recipe was also used by several other churches. Surviving are her husband of nearly 68 years, Chester Marston; her children, Barry (Donna) Marston of Frankfort, Bruce (Mary Ann) Marston of Knoxville, Tenn., and Sherry (David) Lyons of Owenton; two sisters, Beulah Cull and Bernice Harris of Owenton; nine grandchildren, Rebecca and Elizabeth Marston, Melanie (Lee) Peterson, Matt (Joy) Bray, Aaron Lee Marston, Abby Lee (Jon) Gray, Katey and Lacey Cobb, and Christopher (Elizabeth) Lyons; and six great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Matilyn Bray, Noah and Owen Peterson, Hudson Gray and Jackson Lyon. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes with Bro. Kerry Dale Spencer presiding. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to Owen County
