Ethel Tate Stivers, 94, of Owenton, passed away Oct. 23, 2013 at the Crestview Nursing Facility in Shelbyville. Born Jan. 5, 1919, in Midway, she was the daughter of the late Allie and Mary Hockensmith Tate and the widow of Ollie Stivers. She was also preceded in death by 10 siblings. Mrs. Stivers was a former waitress and a member of the Pleasureville Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Darrell (Janetta) Keith of Owenton; her daughter, Violet (Coy) Logan of Shelbyville; her sister, Mary Marksberry; four grandsons, Keith (Tammy) Raisor, Seth Keith, Aaron (Gwen) Alexander and Andrew (Abby) Alexander; five great-granddaughters, Kristy Raisor, Afton (Michael) Hornback, Abbigail, Clara and Olivia Alexander and one great-grandson, Ethan Alexander; two great-great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Cameron Sanders. Also surviving are two stepsons, Bob (Teresa) Stivers and Jimmy (Carol) Stivers; several stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special sister-in-law, Ann Cook. The family received friends at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes on Saturday, Oct, 26, 2013, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.,m. The funeral services followed with her nephews, Bro. Danny Marksberry and Bro. Greg Marksberry presiding. Burial was in the Owenton Cemetery.
