News Death Notice ARMENTROUT, Linda Sue 65, passed away unexpectedly on Nov 18, 2014 at McCullough Hyde Hospital in Oxford, OH. She was born in Hamilton, OH to Ray and Fay Pieper on Jan. 10, 1949, their only child. Linda attended Badin High School and graduated with a B.A. in business psychology from Miami University. She had two children with her former husband, Dr. Michael J. Armentrout of Hamilton, OH. Linda was a licensed massage therapist and enjoyed baking, sewing, singing, and attending bible study. Most of all, she relished time with her five grandchildren. Linda is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Heather (John) Kiriakou of Arlington, VA and Jason (Karen) Armentrout of Hamilton, OH; her grandchildren Lindsey & Aiden Armentrout and Max, Kate, and Charlie Kiriakou; and many beloved cousins. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00-7:00 PM on Sun. Nov. 23 at Ogle & Paul R. Young Funeral Home Funeral Home, located at 5086 College Corner Pike in Oxford. Fr. Jeff Silver will preside over a funeral mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford at 10:00 AM on Mon., Nov. 24. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Oxford. News Death Notice BANKS, Alice (Adams) age 80, of Franklin, OH died Friday, Nov 21, 2014 at home under Hospice Care. She is survived by her children, Jacalyn (Bill) Nock, Annette (Gilbert) Morningstar, Marian (Perry) McDaniel, Stuart (Christine) Banks, and Michael (Kellie) Banks; sisters, Barbara (Noel) Bolen, Charma (Tom) Hamilton, Virginia (Vaughn) Vincent, Marilyn (Fred) Barnthouse; and her brother, Larry (Theresa) Adams; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Earl M. Banks; her parents, Delia & Hurdle Adams; and grandson, William H. BEATTIE, Charles W. (Chuck)* - Hamilton  
News Death Notice BEATTIE, Charles "Chuck" W. 70, a native of Middletown, died suddenly in his home in Oriental, NC the morning of November 6. He was predecased by his parents C. Walter "Walt" and Mary Beattie of Middletown, OH. A 1962 graduate of Middletown High School, Chuck graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 1967. He flew C-130s during the Vietnam War, was a 1989 graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, and retired a full colonel from the US Air Force Reserve in 1993. He was a lifelong member of the AFA Association of Graduates and the Reserve Officers Association. A member of the Airline Pilots Association, he began his commercial airline career in 1973 in Washington DC with Eastern Airlines and retired from US Airways in 2004. A long time resident of Alexandria, VA, Chuck helped create Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse in 1988, coached junior varsity for Thomas Jefferson High School from 1994-98, and founded the Czech American Lacrosse Foundation in 1994. He was an avid lifelong US Air Force Academy lacrosse supporter. Upon retirement, Chuck and his wife Paula moved to Oriental, NC where Chuck took up blacksmithing and built a metal shop, Oriental Ironworks. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law Mark Beattie and Zoe Epstein of Pennsylvania, and sister Jinnie Raney of Monroe, OH.

BLAIR, John W.* - Middletown  
News Death Notice BLAIR, John W. Age 58, of Trenton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton where he had been a patient for three days. He was born August 9, 1956 in Middletown, Ohio and lived in this area most of his life. He graduated from Edgewood High School and served in the U.S. Navy for four years, on the USS Thomaston. John was a cabinet maker by trade and a member of the Moose Lodge 501. Preceding him in death were his first wife, Shari in 1999; and a niece, Kim Ward. He is survived by two children, Kaley Yalch, husband Steve and John Eric Blair; his parents, Charles F. and Ruby J. (Cook) Blair; one brother, Charles R. Blair, wife Julie; two sisters, Charlotte Baker, husband Bruce and Barbara Dougherty, husband Darrell. Visitation will be Friday, November 21. 2014 from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown followed by services at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Interment will be at the Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio with Military Honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Arrangements by Herr - Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. BOGER, Ralph M.* - Lebanon  
News Death Notice BOGER, Ralph M. Age 65 of Lebanon passed unexpectedly Monday, November 3, 2014 at his residence. Born June 15, 1949 in Lebanon, Ohio, Ralph was the son of Wilbur and Veneva (Haynes) Boger and was a loving son, brother and friend to all who knew him. Many will remember Ralph for his kind and generous nature. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph leaves behind his sisters Marie Adams of Lebanon and Velma Maynard of Waynesville; cousin Lewis (Yvonne) Haynes of New Zealand and a host of nieces and nephews. BROWN, James Terry* - Middletown  
News Death Notice BROWN, James Terry 74, of Middletown, died Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania on October 19, 1940 to parents Wilbur and Josephine (Melfi) Brown. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. Former President of Fenwick School Board. Former President of Sons of Italy. He was a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus Monsignor McNary assembly 2299. He received a bachelor's degree from California State College & a master's degree from University of Cincinnati. Terry was a founding member of Cincinnati State College where he was the Director of Cooperative Education where he worked for 28 years. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Alice (Sauer) Brown; son, Michael Brown; daughter, Angela Brown; brother, Larry (Karen) Brown; brother-in-laws, Paul Sauer; Dick Sauer, Jim (Pam) Sauer; and numerous nieces & nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-laws, Billie Sauer and Robyn Sauer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:00am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. News Death Notice BROWN, Robert T. Age 84, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County. He was born July 15, 1930 in Galashiels, Scotland to James and Mae (Thomson) Brown. He was an electrician for many different companies for 53 years, retiring in 2003. News Death Notice BYRD, Carolyn S. Age 63, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Liberty of Middletown Nursing Home. She was born October 16, 1951 in Middletown, OH to Harry and Virginia (Watson) Caldwell. She was a nurse's aide for Gages Nursing Home for 20 years, retiring in 1991.
