PHILLABAUM, Jack A.*  
News Death Notice PHILLABAUM, Jack A. Age 79, of Carlisle, Ohio, died Friday April 29, 2016 at Hospice of Butler-Warren Counties. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 23, 1936 to Lawson Phillabaum and Nan Wills. Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of New Jersey Presbyterian Church for over 55 years. He was employed with TRW Globe and Butler Tech. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Betty Phillabaum, brother, Jerry Phillabaum, father, Lawson Phillabaum, mother, Nan Wills. Jack was a special father to his two sons, Jeff (Marilyn) Phillabaum, Craig (Lynne) Phillabaum. He was a loving grandfather to his two grandsons, Ryan and Dustin; great grandchildren, Kingstin, Joanie, Braylee and Madilyn. Jack also leaves behind a special friend and neighbor, Thelma Pell, and brother, Jim Phillabaum. Funeral services are 11:00 am Wednesday May 4, 2016 at New Jersey Presbyterian Church 780 Fairview Drive Franklin, Ohio with Pastor Jeff Foster officiating. Burial will be in New Jersey Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E. 2nd St Franklin,. OH. News Death Notice RAWLINS, Marcus S. 34, of Hamilton, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray and Lucille Rawlins; maternal grandfather, Benny H. Ball and cousin Annan Byrne of CA. Marcus is survived by his parents, Tim and Nancy Rawlins; grandmother, Maxine Ball; aunt and uncle Linda and Kevin Byrne of CA; cousins, Brandon (Lindsey) Byrne and Caitlin Byrne of CA and Shelby Rawlins of FL as well as close friends Chad Rice and David Braunstein. Marcus was an avid New York Yankees fan and loved sports of all kinds. The family will receive friends at the Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Rd., Hamilton on Wednesday, May 4 from 11am until 12pm with a memorial service commencing at 12pm. News Death Notice REED, Gertrude Margaret Age 98 of Hamilton, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Westover Retirement Community. Gertrude was born on July 22, 1917 in LeMars, IA, the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah (McClain) Faust. She married her husband of 38 years, Francis Reed, on October 4, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Gertrude was a Registered Nurse for over 30 years at both Fort Hamilton Hospital and the office of Dr. Jim Carr. She had lived in the Hamilton/Fairfield area since 1942 and was active with the local P.E.O. Chapter. Gertrude is survived by her son, Charles (Susan) Reed; grandchildren, Eric, Sarah and Caitlin Reed; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and seven siblings. A Graveside Service will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary Cemetery in Lancaster, OH. News Death Notice WAITS, Ronald Earle 86 of Lebanon, died Monday, April 25, 2016 with his family by his side. Born to Ralph and Evelyn (nee: Johnson) Waits on September 28, 1929 in Hillsboro, OH. Ronald was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Ronald was a long time member and Elder of the West Side Church of Christ in Lebanon, Ohio. He worked and retired after 35 years as an Engineering Technician for General Electric. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He enjoyed wood working and water color painting. Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Ellis. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dolores (nee: Allman) Waits of Lebanon, three daughters, Debora (George) Van Harlingen of Lebanon, Carrie (Derrick) Martin of The Villages, FL and Lori Reese of Lebanon, one sister, Patty Peacock of Chillicothe, seven grandchildren, Alicia Pierce, Ben (Megan) Reese, Lydia (Matt) Moeller, Emily Reese, Lisa (Michael) Martin, Lauren (Sean) Clements, DJ Martin, four great- grandchildren, Natalie, Caroline, Grace, and Savannah. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30th from 9:00-11:00AM with a service at 11:00AM all at West Side Church of Christ, 1000 Franklin Rd, Lebanon. Interment to follow in Lebanon Cemetery. WOOD, Jimmie Rae*  
News Death Notice WOOD, Jimmie Rae 89, of Albany GA, passed away Monday April 11, 2016 at Golden Living Nursing Home Tifton GA. She was born July 27, 1926 in Dover, NC, daughter of Jim and Phoebe Tyndall. She married William Wood in 1946, and they moved to Hamilton Ohio in 1947, where she began a career as a teacher. Jimmie obtained her Master's Degree in Education at Miami University in Oxford Ohio, and became a Reading Specialist in the Hamilton City Schools. After her retirement, she moved to Albany, Georgia, where she continued to teach as a highly regarded private tutor. Jimmie was widely recognized as an excellent cook and baker, and loved nothing more than to feed and entertain friends and family. She is survived by her brother Charles Tyndall of Fort Mill SC; sons Gerald(Jane) Wood of Hamilton Ohio, and Greg(Collette) Wood of Dacula GA; daughter Deborah(Alan) Liggett of Tifton GA; grandsons Steven Wood of Chula Vista CA, and John Rodman of Savannah GA; granddaughters Carrie Wood of Austin TX, Janet Wood of Tracy CA, and Amy Wood of Austin TX; 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her former husband, William Wood, sisters Sue Tyndall, Christine Tyndall, Kathleen Heath and Betty Mae Blount, brother John Harvey Tyndall and granddaughter Katherine Rodman. News Death Notice BURGER, Betty Jane 87 of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at her residence. She was born on May 2, 1928 in Hamilton, the daughter of the late William and Florence Elizabeth (Whal) Gray. On October 15, 1945 in Newport, Kentucky she married William F. Burger, Sr. and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2001. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Connie (Butch) Davis and Debbie Prewitt; grandchildren, Randy Berry, Robert (Melissa) Prewitt, William Prewitt, Jennifer (Tim) Snow, Nicki Prewitt and Kelli (Randy) Oney; sister Nellie Straub; many nieces and nephews and her loving companions, Precious; and grandogs, Bentley and Mercedes. She was also preceded in death by her son, Bill Burger, Jr.; daughter-in-law Brenda Burger; three brothers, William, Robert and Richard Gray and special niece Pepper Ware. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 12:00pm on Monday May 2, 2016 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home with Chaplain Galen Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held prior to services from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the funeral home.
