McKAY, Neville Roy* - Liberty Township
News Death Notice McKAY, Neville Roy In memory of Neville Roy McKay, dad, grandad, brother, friend: 7/29/1923 - 7/19/2015 Roy was an impressive man. He and his life's journey were deeply inspiring. All who had the pleasure of meeting him enjoyed memories of his past, his kindness, his British accent and his impeccable manners. He loved his homeland of Great Britain and he fought for her in WWII. Enlisting in the army at 19 years old, he quickly earned the status of becoming an entrusted member of the British Intelligence. He also loved this country that encouraged and rewarded a man that was willing to work hard to not only succeed but excel here. To say Roy was generous is a huge understatement...He was always willing to give his time if something was bothering someone or they just needed some advice. He would gladly offer a hand in any way, if needed. For a man that left 6th grade in order to help support his family, he had an incredible mind and a gift for finance. He was a loyal family man that adored his wife, Marjorie. They shared everything in the life they built together. They enjoyed horse racing, traveling, playing canasta, The Redskins, The Holiday Inn and their 5 grandchildren. Roy has left an indelible mark on his family and those who knew him. The legacy he has left us with is...Take time to really listen to people, be generous to those that need your help and live life with an everlasting loyalty and love for family. He was a hero to many. Roy is survived by his daughter Carole Schreiber and her husband Jeff, his son Paul McKay and his wife Ruth, his brothers: Bob and Gordon McKay, his grandchildren: Christine McKay, Tony, Brandon, Cameron and Chelsea Schreiber, his great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Sidney, Sierra, Jayden and Weston Schreiber. He will be greatly missed! RIP. A celebration of Roy's life will be held at his daughter's house on September 5th at 1 p.m. Any that knew him are welcome. Please contact Hodapp Funeral Home for the address, 513-847-1088.
