Harold (Mac) McFEETERS

News Death Notice

McFEETERS, Harold "Mac" 89, of Monroe, died Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born in Monroe on May 15, 1924 to parents Bertie Raymond and Bessie Marie (Emery) McFeeters. Mac worked as a machinist at Armco Steel Corporation for 39 years, retiring in 1986. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II where he was a radio operator on a B-26 Bomber during the D-day Invasion of Normandy. He was a member of Monroe Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir, he also sang with the Razor's Edge Barbershop Chorus and was a member of SPEBQSA Middletown Chapter. Mac was a member of the 1942 Monroe High School Basketball State Finalists team that was inducted into the Monroe Athletic Hall of Fame. Mr. McFeeters is survived by his wife, June (Boyer) McFeeters; sons, Terry (JoAnn) McFeeters, Larry (Janet) McFeeters, Jerry (Judith) McFeeters & Garry (Wanda) McFeeters; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen McFeeters-Moore. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 20, 2014 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Chaplain Karen Fleming and Reverend Patrick Warren officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
