KREKE, John W. age 77 of Hamilton died Thursday, April 04, 2013, at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on May 21, 1935, the son of John B. and Dorothy (Vonderhaar) Kreke and was a 1953 graduate of Hamilton Catholic High School. On January 22, 1955, in St. Peter Church in Hamilton, he married Marian M. Messacar. John worked as a milkman for Meyer Dairy for ten years. He later worked in maintenance at the Local 233 U.A.W. and retired from Force Control in 1995. Mr. Kreke was a member of St. Julie Billiart Parish, Knights of Columbus Father Butler Council, and the F.O.E of Fairfield. He was an active participant in the Lindenwald Baseball League coaching many levels for over 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Marian; nine children, Michael (Cyndi) Kreke, Patrick (Juanita) Kreke, Sue (Ken) Rohan, Mary (Tim) Lawson, Ann Kreke, Peter Kreke, James Kreke, Philip (Gina) Kreke, and Carol (George) Anagnostou; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Lou Engler, Betty Carley, and Anita Gerhardt. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Kreke. Prayers will be offered at 10:00 am Monday in the Zettler Funeral Home, 2646 Pleasant Ave. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am Monday in St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-10:00 am Monday in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Ave. Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
