News Death Notice

BILLETT, Roy Arthur 72 of Middletown, passed away at home on February 10, 2014. He was born June 19, 1941 in Germantown, OH to Dale Arthur and Kathryn (Huffer) Billett. He was a graduate of Middletown High School Class of 1959. He joined the Marine Corps in 1963. Roy was a member of the 1st Marine Aircraft Group- 24 Unit VMFA531. He worked in the Platinum II hydraulics and was stationed in Japan, Okinawa, Philippines and Vietnam. He left service ranked as a Sergeant in 1967. He worked for St. Regis Paper Company, Middletown Packaging and Miami Packaging for 36 years. He worked for Roush General Contracting for 7 years, retiring at age 70. Roy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Charlotte and son, Brian S. Billett, cousins, Dale Pitzer, Ellis Pitzer, Susan Jean Witherspoon, and Ted Gephart; niece, Jennifer Deaton and nephews, Frederick S. Miller and J. Owen Miller. He was an avid gardener, wood worker and loved to observe how machinery worked. A special thanks to friends and neighbor Ann and Tim Bates. A Receiving of Friends will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 from 11:00 am -12:00 pm at The Baptist Tabernacle. A memorial service will follow at The Baptist Tabernacle, 7816 Dubois Road, Carlisle, OH - 937-746-2702 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Mike Gray officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family at
